Just in time for Valentine's Day, surprise your sweetheart with these Sweetie Fala Fries, a baked version of the ones we carry at Fala Bar . They are simply irresistible, just like your sweetie ;) Pay attention to the ketchup you use and look out for additives such as the very sneaky high fructose corn syrup that tends to pop up in several ingredient lists these days. I love Sir Kensington's , which we also serve at Fala Bar.
Sweetie Fala Fries
*warning : those who consume become extra sweet ;)
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes
- 6 medium sized sweet potatoes
- 2 tbsp 100% organic grape seed oil, or enough to coat
- Sea salt to taste
- Chopped parsley to garnish
- 8 lime wedges
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Line a baking sheet tray with parchment paper.
Peel the potatoes and cut in half vertically. Then with each half face down, slice vertically into the size of fry you prefer. Set in room temperature water for 10 minutes to soften. Drain and pat to dry with a paper towel. Toss in a bowl with the grape seed oil and sea salt. Place on a baking sheet making sure not to overcrowd. Bake for 20 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown. Remove, add parsley and more sea salt if needed. Serve with 2 limes wedges per serving. Enjoy!
